Describing Tensegrity Medicine is tricky — its something that’s best understood through experience. Although every journey is totally unique, I hope these firsthand client reflections give you a sense of what’s possible!

In their own words

“I can both hear my body better and trust it more”

I’ve been seeing Laura for bodywork for over a decade, as she moved from traditional massage into Tensegrity Medicine. She is a gifted healer who creates a safe environment to unwind the body’s most stuck places.

Her modality is unique, and it has entirely changed how I think about both physical and mental growth and healing. I highly encourage you to trust her and her process.

The work is, of course, relaxing on the table, but the healing is more about what happens outside the room between sessions. I can both hear my body better and trust it more. Laura’s gentle guidance and prompts stay with me, and I’ve experienced major breakthroughs in mobility as well as emotional integration as a result of her combined somatic and emotional work.

Laura is gifted, and if you’re seeking healing and transformation, her work is for you. It’s so much more than an hour of relaxation. If you allow it and open yourself up to the process, it will move mountains.

I originally came to Laura for anxiety and panic attacks, which might sound like an odd reason to seek out bodywork—but Bowen Therapy turned out to be exactly what I needed.

What stood out most was how different her approach was from traditional talk therapy. We’d start by talking through what was on my mind, and she’d guide me with strategies as we went. But then she would also observe my body and movements to understand what needed attention, checking in and asking what I was noticing along the way.

It felt like working through things on two levels at once, not just one.

And even though the work itself is so gentle, the shift afterward is huge. My mind gets so much quieter, and the worries just… relax. It’s hard to explain how something so subtle can create that big a change, but it does every time.

“My mind gets so much quieter, and the worries just… relax”

I wasn’t necessarily seeking care, and I had little experience with alternative medicine when I met Laura in the community. We had a casual conversation about health and healthcare, and I connected with the way she talked about the body and healing. I was curious enough to experience her work for myself.

I’ve always been very prevention-minded. I exercise regularly, do Pilates, and have generally thought of staying strong and active as the best way to care for my health. What surprised me about working with Laura was realizing that there were longstanding patterns of tension I had been managing without really changing them. Her work helped me begin to understand those patterns differently and feel them actually start to shift.

As an RN who has also worked in healthcare administration, I especially value the time, attention, and individualized care Laura brings to each session. She helps you understand what your body is communicating in a way that feels clear and empowering.

I’ve referred several family members to Laura when they’ve visited from out of town. After experiencing her work, they’ve tried to find practitioners in their own communities who use similar techniques, but there is no comparison. Laura’s treatments are special.

I recommend her without hesitation.

“Laura’s treatments are special”

I came in stressed—not dealing with one specific issue, just the accumulated weight of juggling everything life was throwing at me.

I’d tried acupuncture before and loved it, so I had some experience with alternative approaches to the body and nervous system, but myofascial release was new to me.

What’s stayed with me is how well my body received the work. Even now, when I meditate, my body will move or respond on its own—a physical echo of the release from our sessions. That’s not something I expected, and it’s not something I’ve felt with any other treatment.

It’s changed how I understand what my body has been holding onto.

I live in NYC now and wish Laura were still here so I could continue seeing her. I’d fly to Portland if I could.
